The Tobacco Barn is an original structure that existed
on the property prior to the purchase of the land by the Winston-Salem
Foundation for the now existing Fairgrounds. The Fair was moved from
Piedmont Park on Liberty Street in the early 1950's. The Tobacco Barn
has been used to exemplify the traditional method of curing tobacco
with wood during the early years of farming.
