This barn was orignianlly constructed in 1856. This
structure was used for storage of hay; as a cattle barn: for milking
of cattle. The skills used in building this barn were hewning, notching,
mortising, and riving. These skills had reached a high level of craftsmanship
during this period. This building was donated by Albert Atwood and
Emily Atwood Cheek in memory of their parents, Charles D. and Lucille
Burke Atwood.
