This building was constructed in 1867 by Mr. Sam
Phelps of Clemmons, NC. The Crib was used for storing corn - usually
after it was shucked. The corn would dry properly and was protected
from rats, mice, wild animals and birds. This type of structure was
rare in Piedmont, NC. Donated by Shugart Enterprises, Winston-Salem,
NC.
