Advance Ticket Sales Begin Friday, August 22nd


Winston-Salem, N.C. (August 21, 2014) — It’s almost time for fair-goers to reserve their places in the Piedmont Triad’s “Tradition of Fun!” The Dixie Classic Fair, the second-largest agricultural Fair in North Carolina, today announced that online advance ticket sales will begin Friday, August 22, 2014.

Advance tickets for the 2014 Dixie Classic Fair will go on sale at 10:00 a.m. Friday through Ticketmaster ( on the Fair’s web site, The online sale will also be accessible via links to the Fair’s social media followers on Facebook and Twitter. Advance ticket prices remain the same as 2013 and are only $7 for adults and $3 for children. Strates Shows Fun Cards are available for $10 and contain 30 credits. Advance online tickets will be available through October 2, 2014, and gate admission tickets and Fun Cards will be available at partner locations beginning in late August – early September.

The 2014 Dixie Classic Fair is being held October 3 – October 12, 2014 at the Winston-Salem Fairgrounds. Now in its 132nd year, this year’s Fair is celebrating its “Tradition of Fun,” dating back to the first Fair, a wheat exhibition held in 1882. The 2014 Dixie Classic Fair will feature the Triad’s best in agriculture, competitive entries, delicious food and entertainment, including recently announced Country music headliners Parmalee and Christian music stars Jamie Grace and Colton Dixon. James E. Strates Shows will once again supply the Fair’s rides and games.

Overall pricing for the 2014 Dixie Classic Fair remains unchanged from 2013. The 2014 Dixie Classic Fair schedule and regular ticket prices are as follows:

  • Hours of operation:
    o   Sunday through Friday 11:00 a.m. – 11:00 p.m.
    o   Saturdays 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 p.m.
  • Tickets for Friday (10/3 &10/10), Saturday (10/4 &10/11) and Sunday (10/5 &10/12):
    o   Adults (ages 12 & up) – $9
    o   Children (ages 6 – 11) – $4
    o   Children (5 & under) and Senior Adults (65 & over, with ID) – Free
  • Tickets for Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday are:
    o   Adults (ages 12 & up) – $8
    o   Children (ages 6 – 11) – $4
    o   Children (5 & under) and Senior Adults (65 & over, with ID) – Free
  • Early Bird Special Admission (Any Gate – Weekdays only): 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. – $4
